Pumpkin Pumpkin

The weekend of your professional pictures and the sick baby, we also went to the pumpkin path.  It was after the pumkin patch that you started running a fever and were burning up.

Traditional morning walk.  Kennedy loves walking in Pa and Grammy's neighborhood because there is so much to see and gorgeous tress etc.

Kennedy would blow kisses and hug on the pumpkins.

This is mid-hug

Here she is saying "awwww" and patting the pumpkin.

At this point you were starting to feel bad, although we didn't know it yet.  You were not about to touch those animals.  They had a baby pig, ducks, a bunny, but you were scared of them.

And the ducks kept bitting me feet and sparkling shoes!

Yep, still bitting me

You also got to ride your first pony.  You kept saying "yehaw".

12 month check up

I am way behind on blogging as always.  Not that you are 13 months I want to report on your 12 month check-up.  You were 20.6 pounds (50%), 31.75 inches long (99%).  You got shots and were not happy about it at all and they ran out of flu shots so we had to go back to get those.  You love eating new foods like oatmeal cookies, pancakes, mixed veggies, and spaghetti.  You are officially off the bottle and I am so happy to not mess with nursing, formula, or bottles!  Hooray for cow's milk.
We recently counted and you have over 100 words and like to use 2 together at a time.  You know star, circle, heart and the colors yellow and purple.

Professional Pictures

We went to SA the first weekend of October for the purpose of getting Kennedy's 1 year picture taken. What a weekend! I will post pumkin patch pics later but let me tell you about the stress of picture taking. Saturday had been pretty action packed but K laid down and took a good long nap. I thought this would be perfect for pics. When we left pumkin patch Kennedy was burning up so I thought she was just hot from being out in the sun. Nope. Poor baby woke up from nap on fire with 101.7 temperature. She literally laid on my chest for an hour.
Of course I was disappointed because this was the only weekend we had to take pics between Stacia's crazy hectic schedule and our schedule. I called to cancel 30 minutes before we were suppose to leave. Well, the Tylenol kicked in and she ate a ton at dinner and was laughing and talking.   I call Stacia who had already started her family dinner and we hustled across town. Normally I would have rescheduled but there was no time.
K was happy happy on the car ride and enjoyed walking around the park with Pa, until she fell onto the gravel and busted open her Head. Now not bad, but definitely an open bloody wound that quickly swelled up with a large bruise around it. Great! Perfect!
Sigh. What was our option at this point? You can imagine how happy Kennedy was to take pics after that. Thanks to the exhausting help of grammy and parents...we got some smiles. What would we do without photoshop?

In Uncle Blake's old rocking chair, which she loves!

Here is what really went on behind camera.  Poor baby.

I was going to add a picture without the editing, but I can't find it at the moment and chances are good that I won't remember to ask Barrett about it which means this post will stay in draft forever.  Out of respect for my to-do list I am posting.

Shake Rattle and Roll

Birthday breakfast over, let the birthday party preparation begin. Kennedy was talking on the phone with Auntie Rach.

Wearing Uncle Blake's boots

The boys quickly left to buy a pump to blow these pools up.  wusses

Reading one of my favorite books that I got when I was 1, Quick as a Cricket.

Chasing after Annie

I am not a crafty person and it stresses me out.  But, for the first time in my life what I had visioned in my head actually worked out and I was pleased.

Auntie Rach helping get more guitars ready for finger painting.

My fellow cooks.  The boys left after breakfast to go shoot, which allowed Kennedy to take a good nap and the women to work without so many people in the house.  Aunt Amy dusted and got chairs ready, mom swept, Rach helped with food prep.  How would I have done this without all the help?

The sweetest little footprints.  Don't mind the dog hair on the chair.

Leave it to the men to get home 45 minutes before the party with Whataburger....when I had made all this food for the party!

My mom snapped this picture of Aunt Amy fanning herself.  This cracks me up because Aunt Amy is always hot and can make a fan out of anything.

Let the party begin...

The girls loved finger painting and Tammy and Craig hated me for it.

All the family units.

By the time we got with Aunt Amy and Uncle Tommy, Kennedy was DONE.

No hesitation on the cake.

Daddy was trying to get Kennedy interested in opening more presents, but she was so preoccupied.

After the party, all the family went to Doc's to eat some seafood.

Uncle Blake and Kennedy signing "fish".

Kennedy kept going over to our neighbor, Easton and giving kisses and hugs.
